Membership Advantages

The Friends rely greatly on member support to fulfill its mission. Membership in the Friends of the Library of Hawai`i helps to strengthen our State libraries and ensures the continued improvement of library services.

Members of the Friends of the Library are people who value reading, understand the impact of literacy on the quality of society, and believe in the expansion of free public library services. We need you! Join our ranks - together we will continue to make a difference. Membership bring many rewards, including the knowledge the your gift makes a real difference to our public library.

Your contribution will provide funding needed for books and equipment, workshops and seminars, grants to libraries, special library programs (i.e., guest authors, musicians, musical and dance groups, storytellers), and library scholarships.

There are many "perks" for members of the Friends of the Library of Hawai`i the greatest reward is the gratification from supporting public libraries and sponsoring quality services and programs including: subscription to the Friends' quarterly newsletter, special announcements, the annual legislative event, special events, and the annual membership meeting.
