Make Some Noise for Hawaii's Public Libraries
Library usage is UP
Now is NOT the time to cut the library's budget
Any cuts beyond 10% will mean library closures
Keep ALL libraries OPEN as important FREE resources for Hawaii's communities
Please email or call your legislators and give them this message.
Make some noise NOW before it's too late!
Legislator of the Year
Senator Clarence Nishihara was presented with the Mahalo Award at the Friends of the Library of Hawai`i's Legislative Breakfast on Wednesday, January 14. The Mahalo Award recognizes a legislator who has been a strong advocate for Hawai`i's public libraries.
This event, held annually at the Hawai`i State Library one week prior to the opening of the legislature, puts the spotlight on the Hawai`i State Public Library System and all its accomplishments over the past year.
Thank you all for making this year's booksale a huge success!
Many thanks to 2008 Booksale Co-chairs, Rosemary Chong and Nobuo Kiwada!
See you next year!!!
